Chris Roberts

Litigation paralegal with over twenty years of experience keeping complex cases organized and on schedule, from case initiation through resolution

Chris works with Bayla’s litigation teams to move cases forward efficiently, from case initiation, discovery, and motion practice through trial preparation and case resolution. Having worked on matters in state and federal courts across the country, he knows the procedural demands of each stage before they arrive, which lets the attorneys he works with stay focused on strategy.

Chris started as a litigation paralegal in 2006 at Howard Rice in San Francisco, where he was trained by some of the smartest and most experienced litigation and appellate paralegals in the country. He subsequently moved to Arnold & Porter’s San Francisco office and then to Thompson Hine’s New York City office. Chris joined Bayla in 2024. Throughout his career he has been the lead paralegal on cases in a wide array of litigation practices, from small cases in local courts to vast and complex cases in state and federal courts.

He has led teams from case initiation through trial and appeals in contract disputes, IP, antitrust, and other types of cases in New York and California state courts.

Managed a large IP case against a major social media company through discovery, summary judgment, and trial preparation.

Managed a complex case through trial in New York Supreme Court, that resulted in a complete post-trial victory on behalf of an international investment company in a dispute about a multimillion-dollar loan agreement.

Managed FINRA matters for securities brokerages, including arbitration.

Managed a case alleging a breach of patent license agreement for USB flash drives from inception through a multi-week jury trial.
